Radio operation

My 2007 Trailmanor panasonic radio CQ-C1303U remains on after I press the power button. It just says "Adjust" but the screen never turns off. Will this run my battery down? How do I turn it completely off? Pressing and holding power button doesn't work.

If you don't have one, you need to find (online) the manual for the radio. TM used several different radios, so you may not get a direct answer here. The manual is short and free, and will tell you what you can do and how to do it..

Yes - eventually, but not quickly, since it is a small drain. All RVs, including TMs, have a number of what are called "phantom loads" or "parasitic loads". These are things that continue to consume a small amount of power even when they are turned off. Most of them are electronic controllers for things like the water heater and the furnace. TVs use a tiny bit of power, since they must always be listening for a button hit on the remote control. There is an amplifier in the radio antenna. In the radio itself, the station memory has to be maintained, as well as a receiver for the remote. All of these loads are small, but together they can make a noticeable hit on your battery after a week or two.

How do I turn it completely off?

You can't turn it completely off, unless you add a switch in the radio's power line, as many RV owners do. The alternative is either to disconnect the battery (it is easy to pull the main battery fuse), or to leave a battery maintainer connected to the TM battery terminals during long-term storage.

Do not user a cheap trickle charger, and do not leave the TM plugged into shore power for a long time, thinking the TM's internal charger will do the job. Most built-in RV chargers tend to overcharge the battery after a while.

The radio in my 2007 3326 does the same thing, it always says ADJUST. But I thought mine was JVC for some reason. At any rate, if it’s the same radio, remove the faceplate. There is a button on the top right corner, the faceplate pops off. Put it in the drawer and fuggedaboutit.
