Bed Switch Repair
The bed switch fell of of our 2013 2417. We're getting by with a rock in it's place, but would like to actually fix it. We've tried, and can't figure out how to access the underside of the bed tray with a screwdriver.
I've attached a drawing that shows the exact type of switch and it's location. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

TM changed the mechanism in this area more than once, and I am not directly familiar with the one in your picture. More commonly, raising the bathroom walls presses down on a push button switch. Do you have a picture of how the switch in your unit is activated? I guess I don't understand how a rock does the job.
With the bathroom collapsed, and the bed mostly (but maybe not entirely) extended, can you lift the forward edge of the bed?

Thanks, Bill. When the bed is fully extend (set up) the "L" shaped bracket presses in the switch and you have power, whether or not the bathroom is set up. In our case, the rock wedges between the bathroom wall and the switch so we have power. With the bathroom down, no power.
With the bathroom collapsed and the bed mostly extended, I can raise the bed just enough to get my fingers in there and hold the bracket in place, but can't get any tools in.
And - Thanks, as always!

Kidraz, your second link describes our situation very well. Thanks. We'll look for the wiring to see if a switch will work. I sure was hoping to replace the original system, though.
Thanks so very much!

If you can fix the current setup, do that. The switch is there to shut off power to that back light, to prevent a possible fire from the bed light when the shell is closed.

Of course- we plan to fix it in one way or another. We don't want any mistakes that could start fires! Not worth the risk.
