Solar Lighting For Your Pleasure

We recently purchased a box of Solar Yard lights from Walmart and plan to put them outside of the camper while set up. We do some dry camping and figured that these lights will give us "Free" lighting around the campsite. Just have to remember to take out the batteries when we store them for the trip.

Time lapse night time maybe, so we get the full effect.

We will be going camping on Apr 30 thru May 2. Will attempt to ge the pictures then and post them after we return. I use these lights as entryway lighting at the house and they add a pleasant glow on the walkway.

Walmart sells them for four(4) in a box for less than $20.00, found in the Garden Section.

That sounds like a great idea, and the $20 for 4 sounds really reasonable!

Next time I go to Wally Mart I'll check it out.

You could even bring them inside at night if your battery goes dead.

We need to make some preps for the summer boondocking season.....our old trailer had one of those gas lanterns inside (as did our cabover camper) and that really came in handy when you were camping for days on end without hookups.

Sorry I haven't posted a picture as yet. Would you believe that we had snow and rain for the camping trip. Not much solar energy to pre charge the batteries. Will have to wait until my next trip in June. Going to Branson, MO to catch the show-me trouts.

Nope, was about 10" tall on a spike. I have thought about the hanging ones and mounting them on the awning rail. Still not sure if they would get enough sun in that location to energize them. I do know, from the ones I have in front of the house, that they stay lit for about 8 hours or more after the sun goes down. Pretty cheap illumination and defenitly adds a nice touch, with little effort.

We also bought a clear one like the ones I think you probably bought. I stuck it in a potted plant outside and it comes on faithfully every night and stays on all night until the sun comes up.

Was cruising through Big Lots 2 or 3 weeks ago and found a lantern type solar light that can be hung up. Used it one night in the TM as a nightlight and it was great. It was $15, a bit more than the others but it was nice because you can hang it or set in on a table or shelf.

Will definitely bring these with us on our next trip.
