While I also don't recommend towing the TM (even over short distances) with the shells up (camping configuration), another thing to keep in mind is that the tongue weight will be significantly higher in this configuration.

I measured the tongue weight of my TM2619 with the shells up and it was about 150lbs higher than with the shells down (towing configuration). That put the tongue weight at about 650lbs and would have exceeded the max tongue weight on my F150. Those with larger/longer TMs should expect larger numbers.

I cringed at the idea too. Don't try to tow the TM when it is up.
Check out some of the dry-docking posts on how to conserve water and stretch the capacity of your gray water tank. I've seen that I fill the gray water tank much sooner than the Thetford. Rinsing dishes is my main culprit for filling the gray water tank, even more than showering believe it or not!

If I don't have a sewer connection, I prefer not to have a water connection either. Having an abundant resource on one end and a limited resource/capacity on the other end......that's just asking for trouble!

B_and_D what is this "Superhero TrailManor" you speak of?!?

It was interesting. It had pictures of Spiderman and other superheroes on the outside, and from what I recall the inside was painted black.

I certainly don't recommend towing very far, but we did pull ours around the campground loop recently, very slowly, (less than 5mph) in order to switch sites without any ill affects.
