You should be OK. Not really legal but Idoubt they would pull you over for it.

I seldom use my mirrors and they are right in the back seat.........lazy, I guess....

How far are you towing? You WILL need mirrors unless you have "tow" mirrors on the Tundra. I tow my TM a few miles from storage to the house without mirrors a lot. But i really should have some on there.

Of course for any trips you'll want them on there, it's the law in most states.
I seem to do best with just one on the drivers side, the passenger side creates a blind spot that has caused me to scare people and myself, better mirrors may be in order for me.

John - if you are interested, I have a set of the McKesh clones that Camping World sells. I don't use them anymore. See my ad at
http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=9695
Send me a PM if interested.
(PS - I'm in Monument so we could meet and I could show them to you if you want.)

We've had good success with the CIBA slip over mirrors on our F-150. Unlike the strap on mirrors, they don't vibrate like mad and stay put. The only downside is that they have left some black marks on the red paint of our factory mirrors. - camp2canoe

I do not have the factory tow mirror option on my Tundra. I also do not use strap on mirrors. I have a pair but they are really unnecessary given the width of the Tundra. Unnecessary doesn't guarantee legal of course but you should be able to see the sides of your TM with just the factory mirrors. I don't know if the 07-10 body style makes my experience different from John's 2006.

I suspect you will be OK to get it home. But I would really look into mirror extensions. Legal really doesn't make any difference to me...I want maximum safety.

"Maximum safety"? I hope you want significantly less than that.

I don't understand your comment at all. I want to achieve as much safety on the things that I can control as possible. Isn't that what we all want? I can't imagine anyone wanting less. Please explain!

I am not against increasing safety. (I have a CSP as a matter of fact)

I was just quibbling with the term "maximum". It is clear to me that staying at home and avoiding any number of activities one performs while living the RV lifestyle is much closer to a life of maximum safety than towing a trailer 500 miles every weekend during the summer. While such a life may be safer, it wouldn't be better.

I didn't want to sound like a jerk, I had intended my comment to be read in a tongue in cheek manner. I should have put one of those smiley faces in there.
