Default Screen Door

After almost 20 years of Toyota Motorhome ownership, we are now new owners of a 2005 3023. The thing I miss is a screen door. Other than the add-on screen rooms I read about on this site, has anyone come up with any type of screen door? Thank you!

Dennis, who was half of the Dennis and Sue company that made the screen inserts, recently died. He was a great guy and a big help to the TM community. IF the screen is still in production I highly recommend it.

Question Screen door

Hello from Canada! We are fairly new to the Trailmanor family, and this spring visited the plant in Tennessee. While there, we learned about a company which manufactured screens for the top of Trailmanor Doors. Upon enquiring this week about purchase of the screen, we were informed that the company has closed due to a death. Does anyone know if any other company will take on manufacture of the door screen. It seemed like a great idea!

RB Canada---We have a extra screen that we used only a few times. We will be taking it with us to the Rally in Pismo Beach to sell. It is a great screen.

Default The Dennis Door

http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ht=Door+screen

This thread will tell you everything about "The Dennis Door" that some of us were lucky enough to purchase before Dennis' untimely passing and hope somehow someone on this Forum or possibly TM will pick up the torch and find way to continue manufacture and distribution of his screen door for the TM.

Hi, I'm brand new and as a temporary screen door, I found something called the Easy Breeze doorway screen curtain at Walmart for $20. It was not in the RV section, but in the hardware section.

It's held up with a tension bar, which is small enough to fit the 2006 2720SL that I just brought home on Thursday night. I has weights on the bottom and includes double sided tape and tabs to hold it open. I plan to using my sewing machine and make the bottom shorter by rolling and running a zigzag stitch. It really helps with airflow.

I hope someone in Dennis' family will take over the business, or at least TM to wise up and see that it's something us TM owners would like to have.

Wow, finally said it, I'm a TM owner!

Good luck!

I contacted the company asking if anyone in the family was going to continue to run the business since the website was still on the web. I rec'd an email that the company is no longer in business.

The genius of Dennis' screen door was in the concept itself, which was unlike anything seen earlier. They are not hard to build, and the parts are not particularly expensive, though they were probably bought at retail since the quantity was small. I always thought Dennis' price was fair considering labor and shipping. I'm surprised that none of our retired handyman types has asked Sue for permission to build some more.

I built one my self with a slightly different clamp since I couldn't find the clamps Dennis Used on short notice.

I built mine the evening before a trip & used it on that trip. It worked perfect but me being the perfectionist (as told to me by my wife & friends regularly) type I plan on doing a little tweaking which could be good or bad knowing my track record.

Also this was my first ever attempt at building any type of screen. I wouldn't call it easy but it wasn't all that hard either.
