Default suburban oven won't heat up

Hi. Just got back from a 4 day stay here in lower Michigan and tried using the oven on our 2004 3023. The 3 top burners light up great. The pilot light also lights up fine. The problem lies in turning the oven temp knob up to any temp. The pilot light only gets bigger , the oven won't light. I waited 1 1/2 minutes with the pilot light flame high but still nothing as far as igniting the oven. Any clues as to what's wrong and is it difficult to take the oven out if I have to fix the trouble? Thanks, Jeff

I had the same symptoms with my oven in my 2003 2720. A local RV dealer replaced the safety valve, and all was good after that.

If you're fairly handy and have a set of opened wrenches and Philips screw driver.

Get the make & model of the stove to order the valve and look up the manual on the manufacturers website. It's a fairly easy replacement. You don't need to remove the stove, just take out the oven shelf and the bottom plate. That will expose the valve and thermocouple assembly.

I took my Trailmanor to a local non-TM dealer. He replace the valve, and I don't think he removed the oven to do it. Even if I could have diagnosed the problem, I don't think I would have had the confidence to change that puppy out myself........1 mistake with gas and it could be my last.

Thanks for the info. I called my local rv dealer and the part is $49.00 and the service guy said the same thing about taking out the middle rack to get access to the valve. I am a very handy guy. AT&T repairman for 32 years. I also replaced the thetford toilet with a regular rv toilet and it's a wonderful change. Thanks again, Jeff

Taking out the middle (solid) rack is easy. There are four screws. Recently I found three of them in the bottom of the oven. If vibration will dislodge them, then it should be easy with a screw driver.
