They had me until they said, "G/flex will also stick to polyethylene plastic". Trying to "Glue" polyethylene plastic is like trying to patch candle wax. Total waste of time and $.

Any epoxy resin will adhere to ABS. Prepping it with "ABS Cement" just prier to applying an epoxy coated patch should work just fine. I'd just get a piece of https://www.amazon.com/Fiberglass-Re...69&sr=8-6&th=1 instead of window screen.

Wet out the patch material on a piece of cardboard, with a 3" paint brush. Peel the wetted patch off of the cardboard and put it over the crack, dobbing it up with the end of the paint brush until it stays in place and keep dobbing it until the white air bubbles are gone. Let it set for 30 minutes, then put another layer on. Maybe crisscross or overlap layers. Let it set over-night and it's not going anywhere.

NOTE........ will NOT stick to polyethylene.

Wavery -

Do you know of anything that will glue polyethylene?

No. I don't think anything will actually adhere strong enough to seal a leak in any tank. Polyethylene has an oil of some kind that keeps working it's way to the surface and sluffing off anything that tries to adhere to it.

I have tried everything that is advertised as, "Adheres to polyethylene" and every one has failed.

The only thing that works is welding polyethylene with polyethylene welding rod and it must be welded with a controlled temperature.

Here's a pretty good video on plastic welding:

I’ve never found anything either and we’ve tried to repair plenty of gas tanks.
