Raccoon Mountain Campground, Chattanooga, TN - Skip it

If you like camping beside a bunch of really loud rednecks then this is the place for you. I think because it is a reasonably priced urban campground it is overrun by locals looking for a place to stay. The area around the pool was covered with cig. butts and beer cans, I was afraid to take my kids in. Our site was literally in the middle of a road and we had to keep turning cars away telling them that it wasn't a road (if you do happen to be forced to stay here and they try to put you in 151 RUN the other way). Anyway, it wasn't a horrible experience but I'm sure there are many better campgrounds in the area. Oh yeah, don't miss the aquarium and downtown scene, also the zoo is small but really nice, my kids enjoyed it.
