Default Powered fan screen removal

Hi,
I have a 2020 trailmanor with the powered ceiling vent over the door next to the stove-the screen has gotten dirty and I want to remove it for cleaning—there is what looks like a place to pry the screen out on the right side of the unit. I tried to pop the screen out and it wouldn’t release easily, so I backed off for fear of breaking it. I have attached a photo. Does anyone know how to remove the screen? I see no name or manufacturing info so I can’t YouTube the info I am looking for.

Any information would be appreciated

Thanks,
Dennis

That doesn't look like the same model as on my older TM, but it looks like a Fantastic Fan (a brand name). Mine has screws all around the screen frame, whereas yours does not. But if you google manuals for that brand of fan, you'll probably find what you're looking for.

That fan looks like the one in my camper. I tried cleaning mine and couldn't get the screen off either. The fan was scraping on the screen and when I had it in for servicing, the lads at Customer RV fixed it, from the top side. I'd reach out to them and ask how to get the screen off. I'm sure they'll help you out.

Sounds like that screen can be easily removed. According the Fantastic Fan manual (if that's indeed what it is):

Quote:
Remove the Pop N’ Lock™ screen ring by grasping the finger tab with one hand and pulling straight down. Use your free hand to brace against the screen assembly (control panel) to prevent breaking the Pop N’ Lock™ screen. Removing the Pop N’ Lock may be difficult at first, but will get easier with repeated removal.
The fan blade can also be easily removed for cleaning.

I think what I did when I removed mine, I rotated the screen either counter clockwise or clockwise, then it popped right off with a little wriggling.

Thanks for the tips! I have the Fantastic Fan in mine too, and I need to clean my screen too. I am planning to do it this weekend or next week, so I’ll let you know how it goes.

When we bought the TM at Custom RV, I noticed during the pre-inspection that the screen was missing on the fan. I didn’t watch him install it, but you’re right it seemed like Scott just popped it in - no screws were needed, I don’t think.

Default Did It!

I removed the screen based upon this video (https://www.google.com/search?q=fant...O0PEPloK8iAc38).

You do have to just pull down and it pops out (I was afraid that it would break the pins, but it was fine). I couldn't believe how dirty the screen was - and that was just after cooking in our TM maybe a dozen times!

At first, I hosed it down, but it was still a bit sticky. Then I used a sponge and soap to wash it and these little black balls of goo just started sloughing off. It was pretty gross! Then, I just put it in the sun to dry and popped it back in. Much better!

And as an added bonus, with the screen removed, I could see the model number and serial number of my fan! I have a Dometic/Fantastic Fan FA1200.
