Default Screen door

I bought the screen that has the magnets in the middle. Thought that would work, and it does somewhat.
I first just used Command strips to put it up but didn't like the looks of it. Thought there has to be a way to do this.
While at Walmart last weekend I saw a frame kit for $10. Figured what the heck !
DH cut the frame and assembled to fit around the outside of the door frame ,used the double sided foam tape to put it up . looks like it is suppose to be there. Now he needs to get the screen in the frame . We did a dry run and I think it will work. It should be able to stay on the TM all the time,up or closed.
You can have the door (top) open, have a screen and get fresh air.
When he gets the screen in,I will try to post a picture

That is how I did mine. I used small "lift off hinges" that have the pin on the frame and the loop on the screen, that way you can open and close the screen when needed and the screen just drops on the hinges. Here is a link: http://www.hardwaresource.com/hinges...Lift+off+Hinge

Hrm. I have one of those D&S screens from when they were still available, but I never really cared for how it fit in the doorway on my particular model. Getting it all aligned worked well enough, but it's a little finicky to get the door to close properly, and the kids (6 now) can't do it themselves, which then becomes something of a hassle.

I'm thinking perhaps these lift on/off hinges might be a better way to do things... I'm going to have to give it a look, I'll let you all know if I come up with anything.

Maxine, am I to understand that he put the frame up only for 3 sides (top, upper door half sides) and the bottom is open to walk through? Does the split/magnet screen work in this scenario?

CWB: Is your screen an upper-half also? Inside the TM, or outside? Do you have any pictures of your setup?

Thanks!

I just saw on the TM newsletter that they are currently designing a screen door for TMs. Hmmm, wonder when it will be available?

This is what we have so far.
I need to cut it off and bind it somehow, maybe with ribbon or something and maybe put a weight in it to hang straight. Or we thought maybe buy a new one and make it hang the whole door length.
But we are gaining !
DH did move the magnets so it closed better.

I will be opening the TM up this next week, getting ready for Memorial day. I will try and get pics then.

And yes, the upper half.
