I'm confused. love2camp, slamit06, and tsplacchi (who are all recent trial members) have all laid claim to this one camper. All you all the same person, did one of you buy it from the other, or what?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a video or picture of the actual roof construction, or the interior of the roof structure. There is a construction video at

that shows construction of the walls and floor, and just a bit of the roof construction. It won't answer your question fully, but it is a start. For example, it specifies that the roof should bow UP by 1-1/2 inches from edge to center - not flat or down. And it shows that the trailer is NOT built with a conventional frame similar to the frame in a stick-built house. This will make repair of the roof a bit tougher.

You might query the factury - perhaps they can send some photos. And as previously noted, you might look for posts on this board by MariaG, and visit her repair blog. Lots of good info there.

Good luck.

Hmmm! I didn't find this video on the TM site. Wonder why there is no link there?

Default Roof Sag

You didn't mention what year your TM is. Mine is a 2004 2720SL and my rear roof has a metal gutter-shaped piece on the the rear roof where it meets the front roof inside. It appears that that piece helps support the rear roof in the middle. See attached photos. Good Luck.

Can you put a metal beam rod in place to give support and sandwich it to give it an even support like a roof beam?. I was thinking I could have a metal support rod out of 1x1 steel tubing and mount it into place to give support with bolts through the roof and sealed up properly. it can pretty easily be straighted out by pushing by hand and there is no delamination. Otherwise the roof is in great shape.

I also have a small (size of a quarter" small tear in the roof how has anyone else fixed this?

Any advice would be a great help. I did a search but did not find much to help me with these issues.

Thanks!

Not to feed the zombie but long story short if you have saggy roofs they aren’t really repairable. The only real fix is roof/upper shell replacement at the factory.

Ask me how I know.
