Default More about curtains

I had ordered a set of curtains from factory in May. Was quoted $382 for a set for the 2720SL. With the reorganization and the the "improved" system I am looking at @$500. Not all that improved.

Perhaps the "improved" system has figured sustainability into the new prices?

Still, $500 for curtains is mighty steep, custom or not.

Wow, sounds like finding a neighbor with a heavy duty sewing machine and taking them out to supper would have been a lot cheaper.

Have you guys priced curtains or even fabric lately? Or even some of the stuff being sold for the bigger RVs? Not to mention the velcro and the special track fittings that have to be sewn onto each piece? And the labor involved? I am a sewer and have worked making van conversions and upholstery. It takes more time than you realize to cut and sew each piece. And I for one am not willing to work for minimum wage doing this kind of work!!! Sewing is a special skill that few have these days!!!
Check pricing on having a couch recovered, that will certainly blow your dress up over your eyes!!! And take your breath away!!! lol!!
So, if you can find that neighbor with the power machine willing to do the work, be prepared to pay more than just taking them out to supper! lol

The point was not the actual cost, it was the jump in cost by adding another middleman which was promoted as an improvement in service

My old 1998 Coleman Grandview pop-up needed a new curtain set when mice damaged the old set. The Coleman curtains are a little simpler design than the curtains found in the TrailManor units and yet Coleman charged around $400 for the set. As high as that was, the camper looked like new with the curtains and seemed worth it after I installed them.

RV curtains are fairly different than what most curtains are and well, as Karen said, not exactly a walk in the park to make.

I agree the issue posted above was with the increase in price and not so much the actual cost. OK I'll agree that the "improved" system of adding a middle-man stinks and I suppose it's a large pill to swallow but perhaps look at it this way, at least you can buy curtains now.

A few months ago when TrailManor was suspect for being six feet under, no tm parts would be available at all, forever.

I have looked pretty closely at the TN curtains...and they only have the fabric edged has been run through a serger sewing machine and then folded over and stitched down and then the curtain tapes are sewn on.

It is a shame that we can no longer purchase the old style curtain tape with the part that ran inside the track. The new style tape threads on the the outside of the newer style track. This really makes our tracks obsolete.

Try searching the RV dealers in your area. I did and found some old stock curtain tape that they could hardly sell. I purchased enough for a complete set on my 2720SL. I then bought some bedspreads the color I wanted and made my own complete set of curtains. This was only about 16 months ago. total cost was just over $100 for the set. As stated above, just top and bottom straight (nearly straight for me) stitching. Good luck

When I saw that the new Trailmanor company was going to require a middleman for repair parts purchase i realized the prices had to go up.

For the Company, I suspect this change was to give the independent RV dealers an added motivation for becoming a Trailmanor Dealer --> profit on parts sales. Possibly a positive move to recover dealer support in the industry.

For us as as owners, paying more is certainly not a plus, but with the new Trailmanor company in business, at least we can now get the repair parts.
