Default Flooring adhesive help needed

My Elkmont developed the bumps under the vinyl flooring in front of the frig. I was able to pull the vinyl flooring back far enough to expose the metal. The bumps were corrosion, like many others have found, I cleaned it up and patched the holes in the metal underlayment. My question is what adhesive should I use to put the vinyl back in place? I scraped the floor and wiped it down with soap and water, is that enough?

I searched and read a lot of threads but didn't find a clear procedure, seemed most used self stick adhesive tiles.

Any help is appreciated!

John

After removing the carpet & staples, and cleaning up the floor, we used Bulls Eye 123 Primer over the bare floor before putting down our self-stick vinyl squares. Not sure about what adhesive to use.

If you are re-glue the original vinyl back down. I would use a flooring vinyl glue, which can buy at any store that sells vinyl flooring. Follow the instructions on the tub.

Thanks for the reply Art, my concern is if the normal vinyl glue will adhere to the metal floor, I think it was meant for wood sub flooring, the original adhesive looked like it was brushed on, But didn't hold very well since the flooring lifted with no effort. I think I'm going to try one of the 3M spray adhesives,

The 3M Super Yellow worked well. Looks good again.

Not sure if it would work on aluminum. I know they work on concrete, and wood.

Sounds like you found a solution.
