Dutch door latch

The metal latch that holds the top and bottom doors together just twisted off. Has anyone had this happen?
How to fix ?
Can't close door top will not stay shut.

I found them in Lowe's window & door hardware section! If I remember its called a sash latch!

Yes, it can be done fairly easily and provides a positive joining of the door halves.
