Default Installing a radio for tv with a sound idea....??

Good Morning friends!
My 2004 tm does not have a radio installed, but has everything for it. I am wanting to install it, but run my smart vizo 24" tv sound through the radio so it comes out the speakers above the master bed....like a pseudo-surround sound set up.
Question: do I go get a "middle of the road" blue tooth capable radio from Walmart/Target that can receive a "sound wire" plug in coming from the tv or would I need another piece of equipment thingy....

Any direction would be most appreciated.

#thanksfromLubbock

If I am understanding your needs correctly, you would just need a head unit with a AUX IN port to get sound from your TV to your back wall speakers (as long as your TV has a headphone/sound out port)

Thanks Foos! So something like an aftermarket radio that you can get at a store with the parameters you described? Making sure I understand what a “head unit” is..??

Yes, almost every car stereo includes a AUX IN nowadays
Pretty much anything from Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC or Sony will work fine and be reliable.
here are some examples: (you need a single din sized receiver)

Some of these do not take CD's only digital media.

Yes, single. That is the proper size for the hole.

You’ll need to look and see what kind of audio outputs your TV has and then find a head unit with that style audio input. If you have component outputs (red & white jacks) you can get a component-to-AUX (headphone) adapter but I’ve found the sound quality isn’t great through those.

Default Radio installation...

Hi friends!
The enclosed attachment shows the wires I have available so I can possibly hook up a radio and run an auxiliary head ohe chord from the tv through the existing wires to the speaker for better sound.
Question: will a regular car aftermarket radio work when looking at the enclosed attachment?

Thanks for any help.

I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, but in your photo, the blue and white are apparently the power line to a radio (is there a black wire in there somewhere?), the two double clear wires run directly to the speakers in the front of the TM, and of course the plug goes into the back of the radio and brings the antenna signal to the radio. The TM wiring diagram shows that the +12 volt line to the radio should be black, but changes in details were common.

So if you mount a radio in the spot above the refrigerator, you would connect its audio outputs to the speakers on the double clear wires in your photo. Then you would plug the TV's audio output to the AUX IN port on the radio's front panel. When you turn the radio ON, and switch the radio to AUX, the TV audio would come from the speakers.

I don't think bluetooth has any part in this, unless your TV has a bluetooth capability on its audio out, and your chosen radio can receive (connect to) bluetooth.

Hope this helps.

Bill
