OK, I learn something every day on this Forum. I was not aware that different TM models (years) had different construction in that area. Obviously something has changed. I can think of two possibilities.

o If the cabinet was made slightly wider, it would cover more of the wheel well liner. It would also reduce the distance between the cabinet and the tub surround, of course.

o If the body of the TM is lifted higher off the axle, then a shallower wheel well liner would do the job, and less of it would need to protrude through the floor. I recall that at some point, TM began including a factory-installed lift kit on the axle. And not long after that, they changed the initial angle of the axle suspension arm.

Either change would make the difference shown in your two photos. Bottom line - you are on top of this issue (or non-issue), and that is good. But later, if another owner wants to retrofit your tank onto his TM, and if his TM has the big triangle shown in photo 1, it will be a complication.
