Picture of horizontal tank mounting?
I am going to be replacing the horizontal tanks on my 2720SL that were discarded by a PO and what I got back from TM was "You will need nuts and bolts to bolt them in, what we use is a I bolt and a wing nut."
I sort of assumed nuts and bolts of some sort would go without saying, but before I get the tank(s) delivered, I thought it would be nice to actually see what I would need and exactly how they are mounted. Anyone have a picture or two and the size of bolt/nut you are using?

I don’t remember the actual bolt size but mine uses a 14mm socket and wrench to turn the bolt and hold the nut. Just a plain old nut and bolt, plus a couple washers. Don’t have to get all fancy.

Thanks Shane. We don't have much in the way of a hardware store here my tiny town, and while I'm heading into the city this afternoon, I thought I could pick up the appropriate bits.

Bolt and nut is a PITA in my opinion. I use 1, 1/2" clevis pin with a cotter pin. Pull the cotter pin, lift the clevis pin out and it's free.
it sorta depends on what year/model TM too. These pics are from my 2004 2720SL after I modified it. The later models copied what I did here. The back of the tank bracket just slips in a slot.

I actually have several clevis pins after replacing my garage door opener. Kept a lot of potentially useful hardware. A couple of them might fit. I’ll order the tank and see how the back end fits in. I suspect it’s similar to your modification.

The pins hold them snug in place? Interesting. We don’t use a ton of propane so I might have to fill one tank per year. Both of my slide TMs have the slot style for the rear of the tank.

The tanks can't move with the pins in and secured. That pic was from years ago on my 2004 2720SL. That trailer has since been cross country (with the new owner) a few times and absolutely no issue with the tanks. Remember, the ride on the tongue of the trailer is relatively smooth. The rear of the trailer, not so much.

Oh I see. Drop the pin through and drill a hole so the cotter holds it snug. I might have to try that.

Clevis pins come with holes pre drilled in multiple configurations. Takes the pain out of removing those tanks.
BTW..... I received my new tanks and they are really nice.

Did the new tanks fit on your TM without any modifications?
