Default Da Flood

We had our gray water tank over flow via the bathtub this weekend. The only cause I can point to is that the Kid used the outside shower to wash mud off his bike and left the cold water valve open. Is this interconnected with the gray water tank normally? Or could it have sent water back thru the shower hose and then down the tub drain?

Ah, nope. The bathtub drain is the low point in the gray water drain system, so when the gray tank fills and you add a little more, it will show up in the bottom of the bathtub. But the only way to add water to the gray water tank is through the bathtub drain, bathroom sink drain, or kitchen sink drain. Did you by chance do a sinkful of dishes?

I thought it was unlikely that they were interconnected. No one will admit to leaving a faucet open. This was no single sink of water it filled the tub to overflowing and the water was perfectly clear. Maybe someone left a valve open on the shower...hmmm I think I know who may have been the culprit too....me..LOL.

Bet it was the inside shower. My 11yr old son filled up our gray tank in one shower last summer! Lucky for him we were at a campout that had roving vacuum trucks to clean out the camper tanks. You have to think Navy showers in the TM.

Has anyone had a gray water tank failure? We are camping and the gray water tank just seemed to fail. It started flooding out from the middle of the bottom of the tank. This is a 2001 2720.

Thanks
Mike

Are you sure it's not full?
