Seasonal Camping at Local Campsites

We are new TM owners (picking up our 2720SD in a few weeks) and we are wondering if any of you park your TM at a local campground on a monthly or seasonal basis? If so, do you leave it "set-up" during the time you are not there? or do you close it up? We were thinking that this might be a way we could use and become familiar with it before we can actually take it out on a few "road trips" later this summer, and as we'll probably have our little granddaughters for about 2 months it might be easier to just pack them into the car on the weekend and run out to the campground. Any thoughts or comments on this would be appreciated! Thanks!
