Default Cleaning TM curtains without shrinkage

I could not find the thread, but some people have reported that removing the TM curtains and washing them results in shrinkage so that they can not be reinstalled.

Recently, I had rented the Rug Doctor steam cleaner with the upholstery attachment. I washed 40 back yard cushions.

I decided to try it on a TM curtain. I did one panel only in the bathroom with good success. I never did get the water to run clear, but it definitely is cleaner than the adjacent panel that I did not clean.

When I have some time, I will rent it again and wash all the rest of the curtains.

I never did feel like removing all the curtains anyway.

After two years our curtains had turned almost pink in color, were dirty, and when we removed them we found insects nests. That was it for the curtains. We removed them and replaced them removable shades that can be easily taken down before closing up and allow for easy cleaning in and around the windows.

The one thing we wish TM had done was to figure out a way to have removable screens so you can wash all the windows.

Is your TM stored outdoors?
