Default Anyone using an over the door tv hanging bracket on bath wall?

I found this hanging bracket on Amazon.

Are the bathroom walls sturdy enough to support a tv in this way? They seem so light. I know I've seen somewhere on this forum about people mounting tvs on the bath wall, but I don't know what size tv. How much weight can that wall support?

Thanks!

Perfect. I think I’m going to order it.

What size tv do you have?

I'm curious, having a TV on the bathroom wall doesn't bother you when you're working at the sink? I'm just curious. For us, the option of mounting a TV there was out of the question.

I don't think our tv is big enough to be in the way at the sink. I'd like to try it. I would love to free up that counter over the fridge.

I hung ours on the over-the-sink cabinet.

Thumbs up Make your own.

I went to Lowes and bought some steel flat stock and made my own. If you have a vise, you can save some money. We hang a 32" flat screen on our bathroom wall. Kids hurry to get the dishes done so they can watch TV.......Win Win!

Default Wall mount for TV

Haven't bought this yet, because we haven't bought the TV yet. (Side note: part of camping, for me, is to get away from TV, but wife doesn't quite see it that way . . . and she has her eye on about a 30-inch one.)

But hanging the TV above the sink seems awkward, especially if it's large enough to stick out into the hallway. So I think I'll do an articulating wall mount, probably mounting it streetside just forward of the picture window, to be close to the cable connection and in the living area instead of the kitchen.

Found a place called mycablemart.com which has several articulating arm TV mounts, made for RVs. This one www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=6978 comes with two wall mount plates, for a second location (bedroom or outside). The arm is easy to lift off for traveling or moving to the second location.

I think the wall plate should have through bolts (going all the way through the wall to the outside, with appropriate large washers and weather sealing) to be sure not to pull out the screws, but otherwise a simple job.

This one's only $17.86, and you can also buy extra wall plates for $4.28 ea.
I'll post pictures when the job is done.

I’ve seen that mount online before, too. My only concern would be is there enough clearance between the shells when folded that the base plate doesn’t chew up the outer wall of the rear shell?

Default Wall mount for TV

That's a good point, and I don't have an answer until I have the mounting plate in hand. Looking up into the shells when the TM is folded looks like there'll be enough spacing if the mounting plate is no more than about 3/8" thick. The shells don't fit that snugly, but there might be a possibility of some scratching if anything is thicker -- plus mounting bolts should probably be carriage bolts, with a smooth rounded head on the outside.
