Default Humidity in TM

We just got home today from camping at Texana Park in Edna , Tx. I know we have a lot of humidity in south central Tx but is it normal to have a lot of humidity in the TM when AC is running ? The AC cools great, we hardly ever go camping in summer and we were wondering if this is a normal occurrence?

We have no humidity problems with ours, have seen 99 degrees and humid in Florida on a trip with no issues.

I would say yes it is normal. We live in Florida. Camped all weekend with high humidity. My wife likes the TM to be very cold. I like a moderate temperature. Keeping it moderate, we have less of a humidity problem. With the TM cold, we experience some buildup of condensation in the end shells. I think it is because the AC directs the cold air agains the end shell walls. But like I said, keep it on a moderate setting and you wont have that problem.

Is it best to keep it on low cool or high cool? When we bought it the salesman stated that if we keep it on low cool it would freeze up , is this true?

We keep ours on low cool. We have never had it freeze up on us. And again, we keep it on a moderate temperature. One more thing. Just by the nature of the beast, the TM has areas where that humid air from outside can get in. Try and find those places (like along the edge of the beds). Some people actually put "noodles" along the edge of the beds. We roll a beach towel and lay it along the edge. But look for some of those places. That will also cut down on the humidity. But above all else .... Be a happy camper!

Of course, humidity is also caused by activities within the TM - such as breathing! Cooking, showering, and washing dishes also generate lots. Whenever you are doing any of these, it is worthwhile to use the vent fan turned on to low.

I, too, have never had the air conditioner freeze up, but we don't camp often in super-humid areas.

Thank you all for the replies! The information you all gave will help greatly! Will use noodles to cover the areas on the bed we don't use and cover areas where the air can get in ! This forum is awesome!

Bout as humid as it gets here and never had an AC freeze up. In a car it usually means low freon.
