LP GAs Quick Connect

My 2009 2720 has a LP gas quick connector on the right side. Does anyone know what male fitting plugs in? Mr Heater and Camco male fitting do not fit.

Mr. Heater wants high pressure gas, since it expects to operate from a 14-oz or 16-oz bottle. I don't know for sure, but I would bet that the connector on your TM supplies low-pressure gas, the same that is fed to all the TM gas appliances (oven, water heater, furnace). In other words, unless the fitting is piped directly from a 20-lb tank on the tongue, ahead of the pressure regulator mounted on the tongue, the fitting is supplying low-pressure gas. The fittings for high and low pressure are, of course, different.

I know that does not exactly answer your question, but it tells you where to look. And it tells you that your high-pressure appliance (Mr. Heater, most grills, etc) aren't going to work from that fitting even if you figure out how to connect to it.

The supply is low pressure - it's just a tee in the gas line going to the stove. The fittings I have are for hooking up a low pressure grill to the supply but they are too small. The female on the TM is larger then the male fittings I bought.

It suggests that the low-pressure fittings are "Type 250" or "Type 375", whatever that means, and that the fitting type is stamped or inscribed on the body of the fitting.

Thank You for your research and replies. I called the TM dealer in Gainesville today. Discussed the situation, sent pictures and they had no idea what fitting I need. The dealer is going to contact TM on Monday to try to find out what I need. My guess is that I will be replacing the factory female connector with a Mr Heater connector available at Camper World, Tractor Supply and others. Thanks again for your help.

I have a Baby Weber that is usually run off a 16 oz propane (fat, usually green) bottle. I was able to get a hose that connects to a 20 lb propane tank and the Weber and it works great. The Weber has a built in regulator. Don't know what is high and low pressure, but do know Camping World sells a lot of different hook ups and I was able to get what I needed there to convert my Weber grill.

My 2012 2417 Sport had the outside quick-connect for my 3-burner stove. It was a larger connector. My 2014 2417KD has a quick-connect, but it was a smaller diameter than my old fitting.

So, I went to a propane supply shop, and had a new hose made with the correct fitting. My point is, I have had two different sizes of quick-connects from the TM factory.

The sizes reference above - 250 and 375 - could easily be quarter-inch and 3/8 inch. Those are close to the sizes I have encountered with my TMs.

I would suggest finding a propane supply in your area, who has fittings and hoses. Measure the opening on your quick-connect, and take your Mr. Buddy with you, so they can make a connector that fits both.

I have seen 3 different quick disconnects. The low pressure ones, high pressure and the natural gas one for connecting your grill to NG.

Both the high pressure and NG fittings are larger then the low pressure ones we see in RV's for low pressure. I think a PO changed or added that fitting. It should work as long as the pressure is lower then the ratting. But I would replace it just to conform to the standard used fitting.

Here is both the male and female fitting on amazon. I just bought one or $20 for my wave heater, but have not plumed it in.

The Amazon link is the exact one I use for a propane campfire I have. I did need to change both the male and female to get it to fit. You would think the industry would have a standard but then they would get our dollars!
