Default Little red light on top of trailmanor? Antenna??

Have owned this trailmanor for a couple of years and until last night had never noticed a little red light shining on what appears to be the T shaped radio antenna on the edge of the Upper Shell. It is in the middle where the cross piece meets the down stroke. I would be willing to say it has never been on before because I'm sure I would have noticed in the dark in a campground but I am short so may have missed it. However it is bugging me - why on earth would the antenna have a light - what purpose does it serve?? and how do I turn it off?? If anyone can shed light LOL on this I would be grateful.

You have one of the rare police versions.

You should see a little blue light by the door.

(couldn't resist this one)

Default Radio antenna info

Dear Van Isle TM,

You will find some very useful information in the following thread >

https://www.trailmanorowners.com/for...ad.php?t=20224

This user did not have a radio. They later installed a radio but was unhappy with the
reception by the factory installed antenna(the one you found). They eliminated the factory
antenna and connected the radio to use the television antenna instead.
If you really want to "power off" your radio antenna there is a connector in a red wire in
the junction box on the edge of the front shell just below the antenna.
Radio reception through this factory antenna is not great but if you disconnect the power to it then it will
be extremely poor to almost unusable.
I have considered disconnecting my radio antenna as we don't listen to radio hardly ever.
We like to connect an 'aux' cable between a tv and the radio so we can pipe the tv sound to the speakers above the couch.

Hope this helps. Stay safe.

I was the one that posted that. When I first installed the after market radio it was connected to the "red light" antenna. Things were fine enough for our use. It was a couple years later when I noticed the reception seemed to be non-existent. I did some checking and noticed the red light was not ON as it used to be. Found no trouble with the wiring so I concluded the "red light" gizmo on the roof had died. So it was a decision to replace it (exact replacements are available for a reasonable price) or just try tying in to the TV antenna jack near the radio mount. The TV jack seems to work fine enough, so the net effect was mainly to eliminate one small current draining device, i.e. got rid of the rooftop radio antenna.
