I am look for any comments on the shower in the TM
taking a shower
water tank

We've been around the block a few times now having owned a 1995 3326TM now a 2004 3326TM, having said that there's alot of changes some major ones, now I think we've ran our heater on gas since acquiring our new TM, we're a little confused on the electric versus the gas, now this is the question.
We found the switch at the water heater, on the outside, now there's a switch also on the inside under the sink that has written on it water heater on/off and reset, does this need to be on whether you use gas or electric? Inquiring minds would love to know? Like I said the new TM's are somewhat different.

Please advise, hopefully we haven't burnt up the element.

On our 2004 1/2 TM the switch by the sink operates the gas for the hot water heater which has an auto light feature. The electric element is controlled by the switch you found on the water heater. Some TM owners have installed an inside switch for the water heater AC element.

It’s essential that you turn off the AC element before you drain the water or you'll have to replace the AC element.

The inside switch is for gas operation. The newer units with the inside switch are DSI (Direct Spark Ignition) models. If you don't have an inside switch, then you have a pilot light model.

The outside switch is for 110vac operation. This feature was added about the time the DSI models were introduced. It should only be turned on when the water heater is full of water and the water system is pressurized. If it is turned on with the tank empty, it will burn out.

You don't need both switches on at the same time. However, they could both be turned on at the same time to reduce the water heater recovery time.

All I can say about the shower is that we love having it when we go camping. It's not as easy as turning on the faucet at home, and you do have to watch your water consumption somewhat, especially without hookups. You can't use the small hot water tank to take a 1/2 hour shower, but there is plenty of hot water for us ladies in our family (my daughter has really long, thick hair) to get very clean comfortably if you use the hot water conservatively. We usually wait 10 minutes or so after she's taken a shower to venture in again (but she's usually in the bathroom for that long, anyway) so the water has a chance to heat up.

No complaints here, but we're willing to conserve a little in order to have the TM setup. It's a bit more spartan than the big RV's that so many people have nowdays. We don't want or need all of that. We like the TM lifestyle. It really fits our camping needs.

Now to the practical (LOL)...
We have had three "campers" and this is the first one that maintains hot water in the shower. In the others, when you turned it off to soap up, you were hit by a blast of cold water when you turned it abak on. THis is not true with our TM. Once hot, always hot Queeniereads aka Judi
