Default Closing Problem

Has anyone experienced any problems closing their TM. I recently purchased a 2002 2720, and the trailer opens fine, but i have difficulty closing the rear. The front closes fine, but the rear is very difficult. Any ideas?

I know it can be easily adjusted. Not sure how as I have not had to do it.

Go out after dark with a good flashlight and open the front. You can then look back under the rear to see if it's hitting anything. This will also give you an idea of how much bedding you can leave on the rear bed when traveling.

Default Closing

It comes down fine, but is very difficult to latch... I think it could need a torsion bar adjustment. Does anyone have any experience on making adjustments to the torsion bars.... Thanks for the replies...

What is making it difficult? Is the rear shell stiff? Comes down fine, but hard to latch?

Our TM dealer recommended that we step down on the street side stirrup first. It does help us get the top down. Also, It may help to have a second person bringing the roof down at the same time on the right.

And either one of them could be right for your particular trailer. My unit is in Hal's camp, but why? I don't know, but I suspect it is due to tiny differences in the left-vs-right torsion bar adjustment. It could also be due to slight differences in the latch position. The hook is easily adjusted up or down, and 1/4 inch might make the difference you need.
