Factory/Dealer failure to communicate

Look what I got! Note all the things not available on the 2417. Bummer

Don't believe everything you see on the Order Sheet! As Arky said, she ordered the large hanging cabinet, and the 3-drawer mobile "dresser". I thought I had pics of the inside of my 2417KD, but I don't find them. But, they are available. You will have to hang the cabinet yourself, but that is simple. All the hardware comes with it.

As for sleeping on the couch - No Way! The Sport is 6" narrower than the Standard. That makes sleeping across the width 6" shorter. Then, the couch has arms, which take about another 6" away from the length. If you are only 5' tall, you could fit, but it would not be comfortable. But, you have a king bed in the back, so I am not sure why one would want to sleep on the couch, if there is only one of you traveling.

You can have TM wire for solar, then get your own panel for much cheaper, with higher output. I like the controller that comes with the TM, so just need to get a panel.

I got the plumb for quick-connect for an outside stove, but I also got a 3-burner to use outside. Nicer than getting all the steam and grease inside the trailer.



Just my thoughts.

The cabinets aren't a concern. I can get them later if need be. I'm just disappointed so many options are listed as not available. The main reason I remodeled my ALiner was so I could sleep lengthwise. It was a bit narrow for me to sleep crosswise. There should be plenty of room for a lengthwise cot/bed board/whatever with the sofa slide out. I haven't seen a TrailManor since 2007 and don't remember very many details but I am hopeful the king bed area will have enough vertical clearance to serve as the storage area for my toys. I have three Folbot kayaks which fit in bags small enough to check as airline luggage. Good idea about factory solar wiring, I haven't checked the solar thread mentioned earlier but was curious as to how the wiring would be routed.

The options that truly aren't won't fit in a 2417 Sport are:

Second hanging cabinet - a large one will fit on the wall next to the stove/fridge

Microwave box w/drawer. It could go on counter next to sink, but that is not the same configuration as larger units.

Stove cover - 2417 comes with a 2-burner stove, and it has a cover built-in. The larger models have a 3-burner stove of a different design, so the cover is pertinent to them. Not pertinent in a 2417.

Microwave in place of an oven. There is no oven in a 2417, so it can't be replaced with something else.

I would strongly recommend the cassette toilet. I like the convenience of the cassette. That's me, though.

So, really, the only things not available for a 2417 are a microwave, and a second hanging cabinet. If you get a slide, you will have room for the 3-drawer chest. Without the slide, there is not room for the chest.

BTW --- we have a detached garage with an 8' wide door and the 2417 SPORT (even with no awning) would NOT fit thru the 93" opening due to the exterior lights adding about 5" to the published width.....You'll need a 9' single door or shared double bay.....

Find my thread on this. I have a 2720SL (standard width) and I fit it routinely into a single garage. I can't recall the exact width now, but I did post it with pics of how I did it.

Yes, the exterior lights needed to be replaced with low profile LEDs, but that was a simple thing to do.

ThePair --- Yes, our Sport will fit into our single garage (9' width) but not into the detached garage which has an 8' wide door....just sayin' all single garage doors are not equal in width......So why would anyone spend the $$$ to build a 12' wide detached garage (after the fact) with only an 8' door???

Do you have a link for the three low profile LED lights??? Why doesn't the factory use them, all of the other lighting is LED.......

The other width issue is the awning, Maybe I should just remove it entirely when I sell the Vixen so the TM will fit. Had to notch the door & fold the mirrors for the RV.

As to why ? The garage had to fit between the house and the utility setback. It has a double door in the back but manovering space is limited so only straight shot is from front. Was not an issue 20 years ago when built and until now.
