Default Manufacturing badge

Hello, I went the DMV in (SoCal) & had t go through a verification process -since we bought it out of state & need to transfer ownership.

The inspector could not find the manufacture label/fed label.

Does anyone know where this label is?

Thanks,
jola

On mine it is on the left side, lower edge of the exterior wall of the front shell, near the center of the trailer - visible when the trailer is closed. If you need only the VIN, it exists in at least three places.

I went to AAA about 5-months ago (SoCal) and had no issue registering. All the person wanted to see was the VIN which is on the frame.

Like Wavery, I've never had to present any more than the VIN. My guess is that the DMV guy wanted the VIN, and knew it is on the manufacturer's label - so he asked you to find the manufacturer's label. The mfr label does contain the VIN, but also has stuff like tire sizes and pressures, mfr name and location - stuff which he doesn't need to know.

Actually, the VIN was easy, it's stamped on the frame, but he wanted something he called the fed label.
I will check the inside today, if I don't locate it I have the go to the Ca Highway Patrol.

Thanks all

If you want to do it at CA DMV, You'll have to ask for a supervisor. Most of the counter people don't know anything about registering a camping trailer. The Federal ID plate has EPA information on it for MOTOR VEHICLES. Your Trailmanor does not have a motor. The person that was "helping" you may have been looking a rules for registering a motorhome.

You can look up the requirements for title transfer here:

Getting a AAA membership for just a year would be well worth it just to register the camper. They are far more knowledgeable than DMV, and you won’t have this run around you’re getting. (Having registered two different TMs in 2 states, including California)
