Kentucky to Maine, suggestions wanted

Hello All,
I am planning on taking my family from our home in Louisville, KY to Maine and back during 2 weeks starting the last week of June returning July 11th or so. I Mountain bike and whitewater kayak and will have gear to do both during the trip, I will have my family with me so I will need to stick to areas that have other activities. What I am looking for are potential changes to the itinerary and/or suggestions on places to camp during this trip, we have a trailmanor travel trailer and need parks/sites with full hook up's available. Also, let me know if there are any can't miss stops along the way that I've missed.
I fear I didn't leave enough time for the Adirondacks/Lake Placid, etc. area, does anyone know of any great places to go up there? Also, I don't think Montauk is going to work as there is only one campground and it has no hook ups, we have to have at least electricity.
