Since I carry a two foot breaker bar, I don't carry the lug wrench. But then we spend so much time on the road I carry a two drawer tool box. A lot of weight but I have to use it too many times.

What ever you decide donot place the jack under the axle or let the tire store do so.

While the tire dealer is putting those new tires on and packing the bearings and adjusting the brakes head over to Wally World and get a fresh tank of LP, chemicals for the commode, white hose for potable water, sewer hose (stinky slinky) and some food to eat. You will need a cheap tool set (I use one of those 104 piece sets from Wally to do emergency repairs, you know I can get her home now type) , I use a breaker bar for lugs, and a decent tire gauge (digital is best) and a good air compressor for tires are about 60-65 lbs, you will need a square bit set for screws (I carry some screws, fuses bulbs also) , some grease for your ball and coupler connection (a tennis ball to cover the goop when not connected helps). ; I carry 2- 10 foot long tie downs in case one of the catches breaks so I can get home. A battery operated drill is very handy also, get some round steel the size of your jacks handle, bend it and use your drill to lower/raise the leveler jacks and awning, no more hand cranking. Of course bedding, pots and pans seem to also come in handy, though I use a local restaurant guide a lot too.
Enjoy your new to u TM!

I don't have a corkscrew, my beverage has snap caps!

Subscribed! Easiest decision we've made in a long time

This is all very helpful, thanks - we're reviewing and will follow up with more last minute questions, I'm sure...

Oh, the lawn chair and corkscrew? Sheri will pack that for roadside in case Jim has to do unexpected repairs JK!

I'm lucky in that I'm able to use the Tundra bottle jack and lug wrench fits the TM wheels perfectly. Its always packed under the rear seat of the truck.

Go to your local jeep dealer and take your jeep vin number and request a "build sheet". This will give you all of the options, trans, drivetrain etc...... regarding your jeep. You did not say which engine but depending engine and trim level you may already have a cooler installed. Don't forget the mirror extensions as the TV is a bit narrower than the TM. Good luck

Irene -

That works great. And if you don't want to set down your coffee and get out of your PJs, you can also email the Jeep Customer Assistance Center at Jeep.com, ask for a build sheet, and they will have one to you less than an hour (at least that is my experience).

I'm not sure why Jeep is so helpful in this area, but I love it!

Or a 1942 GPW since Ford made a lot of those.

And don't forget the "maiden" for the voyage either...helps keep us out of trouble, well most of the time.
Have fun and just take it easy.
