If you're in Connecticut, you're not too far from the Cape. You can contact Debra at MCD in Hyannis and see what they have in inventory. They often have units for sale on consignment. She can also discuss prices for new units too.

I have purchased two TMs used and both have worked well for us. Our 3124 was in southern VA and we were in Baltimore. Our current 3326 was a TN to FL adventure including a $2000 turbo intercooler on the way!

I would look at the used market again before buying a new one.

I am scouting out used ones, but I am very cautious of buying others' troubles. Am I correct that I reduce my risk by only looking at post 2003 no-wood frame models?

Anyone have tips or is there a checklist available for problem areas to inspect on used units?

Thanks!

I believe 2006 was the year they upgraded the electrical converter and went to 15" wheels as standard equipment.
Both are big pluses and many owners of older units have made these upgrades at additional expense to them.
Make sure the sellers are prepared to have their unit plugged in and fully operating for your inspection.
On a unit that is a few years old, plan on new tires and battery, but that would be true for most any used RV.
When you know the area you are going, check this forum to see if there is a current owner (rig not for sale) that may be willing to meet you at the location and help you check it out. I would be if your come to N.E. Tennessee. You could use my 3023 as a comparrison.
