Default Changing WDH for Bike RAck

I just purchased a receiver type bike rack that I intend to install on the rear of our 2000 2619. The rack plus two bikes will weigh in at about 100 lbs. Can anyone tell me what to do to my Equal-I-Zer weight distributing hitch to adjust for the bike rack weight? I believe that I have to move the "L Brackets" up or down, but have no clue as to which direction.

Thanks.

Check www.reeseprod.com for information on WDH and adjustments. There also some good threads on here that cover adjustments of the WDH. The best way is to measure front and rear ground clearance on TV and adjust with hitch to match the ratio as closely as possible once the TM is connected.

The extra weight on the rear bumper of the TM will REDUCE the tongue weight, so the proper move (within reason) is to REDUCE the lift provided by the WDH. In other words, drop a link - put an extra link between the lift hook and the tip of the springbar.

In the end, though, the right answer is exactly the one provided by dbnoll - measure the front and rear ground clearance of the tow vehicle, before and after the tongue weight is dropped on the hitch and the springbars are lifted. They should drop by the same amount.
