Microwave in place of oven
Has anyone ever gotten this option? If yes, are you glad that you did? Is it a convection microwave? Any pics of what it looks like as I presume it goes where the oven is?

This is one of those things that may cost you resale value (see other thread on this topic), since it eliminates any potential buyer who will ever camp without shore power - or want to make a batch of cookies.

Yes we got this option in our 2011/2720 and never regretted it. It does go in place of the oven which we had one of in our previous Trailers and never used. The microwave get fairly heavy use especially when we have the grandkids with us for two weeks. It is basically a matter of taste and choice. Good luck with yours and happy trailering. Oh, by the way the factory unit we got in ours was a Dometic and not a convection type.

I had originally wanted the microwave. But when we found our "'deal" it had the gas oven. It was the best choice I never considered. Baked cookies at night. Casseroles in the morning

Very easy to take or keep a small microwave in one's TM. That way you can have your cake and bake it too....

I did confirm that the microwave they put in is not a convection model. So will go with the oven.

Microwave
I purchased a used 2006 2720 that had a microwave/convection/toaster oven in place of the gas oven. Since we do not camp off the grid, we love it. How many people use the oven anyway.

Since most of our camping is off grid we use the gas oven maybe a couple times a month,( most cooking is on the outside grill). To add a microwave, which we just started look into off grid, a small 900 watt unit ~$49; inverter to run it $349, additional solar panels to properly recharge the batteries, best price $94 each two required. Total cost ~$600

My '06 has a Sharp R-55TS "toaster oven with microwave". Must admit I haven't tried to toast a bagel yet (4 minutes).
BTW Microwave .98 kW, 8.5 Amps; Grill/Bake 1.3 kW, 10.8 Amps

We use the toaster function often and love the Sharp unit.
