Hi there-- a couple of retirees, we have had our TM since 2011 and initially had no problems, but for several years now, we have been unable light the refrig using the igniter button on the inside of the unit. We read the manual and read posts referring to the piezo igniter and the 'spark' that lights the flame for the fridge but we can't figure out what is not working. So we have resorted to manually lighting the flame using a lighter from the outside...and the little buttons holding on the outside door are now broken from opening it so much.
Hubby is always outside and I am inside holding in the button. First trip of every year though, he forgets exactly where specifically to direct the flame and always gets very frustrated, but eventually gets it to light. (We are the older couple yelling at each other through the window, the minute we have gotten to the campsite.)
My question is simply what the problem might be on lighting the fridge? The igniter button does make a loud click when pushed as it should so does that mean it is not the problem? Even after lighting the stove burner first, we can't seem to get the refrig to light that way, like we used to. Any advice on troubleshooting the spark (or lack thereof) would be appreciated.
p.s. we have never taken out the refrigerator and don't know if we could do that
