Question Water Dripping out of City water connector point

First time poster, so excuse any mistakes and thanks for the help!
Had our 2006 2720SL out for its first trip this past weekend after purchasing a one year old used model. We were hooked up to electric but not water. We noticed water continuously dripping out the city water connection point/hose coupler on the side of the TM (not the fill port with the cap). Is this a problem or a usual occurrence?

Perhaps I'm not understanding the point where the connection is leaking, but is there a fresh rubber washer in the hose inlet? We experienced a leak occasionally where the hose connects to the campground faucet, and a fresh rubber gaskets does the trick.

If it's leaking out where the hose is joined to the coupler, then you may need a new hose.

I think Leon has the most likely answer.

Take a look at the plumbing system diagram at

http://tmphotos.org/modules/xoopsgal...?g2_itemId=176

The onboard water pump pressurizes the system, using water from the fresh water tank. Pressurized water will try to flow backward, OUT the garden hose inlet, but is prevented from doing so by an anti-backflow device that is built into the inlet. In this case, it appears that the anti-backflow device has failed, possibly due to a bit of grit. With any luck, the fix is as simple as putting a hose on the connector and pumping water through it as fast as possible, to wash out the grit. If this doesn't work, the assembly is relatively easy to replace (inconvenient location to work in, though) and not expensive.

To answer your original question, it is not usual for this to happen. But it is most likely not a problem unless some of the dripping water is finding its way back inside the TM. Of course, it also wastes your water, which may be in short supply if you are dry-camping ...

Thanks to all for your answers. Likely a small leak back out the anti-siphon valve that can hopefully be cured next time we hook up to water. We did seem to go thru a lot of water for just washing dishes and hands on a one nighter.

Meant to post earlier when we went out in spring but you know how that goes! We seem to be fine after we were finally able to hook up to city water supply. I am guessing the check valve did have a piece of grit in it and it was not closing properly as some of you suspected. No more leaks out of the city water hose connection point when we next camped without water hook up. Thanks and glad nothing needed repair.
