New Seal-Flaps for Rear Bed Area

TM Factory finally has come up with a solution to the drafty seals and cold coming in at the rearbed area. I was talking to a dear friend of mine in TM today who has been with them for many a year and he told me that their engineers have finally come up with a solution to the problem that apparently had been talked about for 10 years but nobody of the old owners did enything about. He told me that they are currently installing insulated flaps just like the front area of the TM on the new units coming off the line. He explained to me that they are installed differently than the front ones. The left and right flaps are attached in some manner to the bedslide and the rear flap is attached to the wall and fold unto Velcro just like the front ones, creating a draft free and cold free area for the rear bed. He told me that when you are spending $34K on a trailer you should not be having to go out and buy noodles to seal it and keep the drafts out. I said to him that it was about time that headache was fixed.

He also told me, that in the near future, it will more than likely become a fix for the older TMs in the way of a Kit with Detailed Installation Instructions that can be purchased direct from the factory at a reasonable price. Can't wait to see that happen.

The factory is very busy at the moment with lots of orders coming in from dealers for their stock allotments so much so that TM has put the Nebraska factory on hold untill the fall so as not to affect their supply to the dealers.

It is real great to see TM getting back on their feet. Hurrah for them.

This is grt to hear that they are busy, also a fix for the draft in the back,
also more tax dollers for the great state, it all works out

I made and installed Velcro flaps in 2007 all around my king size bed and up past the dinette on my 2001 3326 and put pictures on this site and few even looked at the mod but I really love the fact that NO BUG's or draft comes through. Glad to hear the factory is helping past models get updated.

Hi Bob-
I have a similar problem with my 2002 3326 and would love to hear how you solved the rear bed flap situation. If you still have the pictures, I'd love to see them. Can't find them posted anywhere.

My fabric flaps on my rear bed are coming unglued. Has anyone had this issue, and if so, what was the solution to reglue/reattach the flaps. I want to repair the problem to keep it from happening again in the near future.

Any guidance would be helpful!

Hi Fourteener,

My fabric flaps were starting to come loose as well. I had a can of 3M spray adhesive that I use for many projects. It worked well on my fabric flaps. I just folded them back exposing the area that had come loose and sprayed a even coat on the fabric, waited about a minute till it got real tacky and pressed it into place. The next morning I gave them a little tug and they were bonded tight. Have not had any issues with them since the fix, three camping trips ago.

If the spray adhesive ever fails my next fix will be contact cement glue. Hope this helps.
