Front Shell not latching down correctly.
When putting my new-to-me 2004 2720 away, the front shell comes down to the left of the where it should be. It's sucking in to the body. To get it to latch properly, I need to pull on the shell and press down on the street side stirrup. (This isn't easy)
From the curb side, I need to push in and down. Some other relevant facts, I seem to be free of door issues and I have a solar panel installed on the front shell, on the front street side section of the shell.
Anyhow, I'm a little new to this, but after reading this great forum, I've deduced that I probably need to adjust the torsion bars and/or level the shells.
My question is, what would you guys try first? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue and found that a quarter turn (up or down) to the torsion bar adjustments did the trick. Watch very closely when you raise the roof and see if it tracks a little off as it is raising. If it is hard to lift then tighten the torsion on the low side a quarter turn and raise it again, repeat till it is level. If it is easy to raise and slams at the top, then loosen the torsion bar on the high side.
You can only adjust the torsion springs on the unit when it is up and the tension is less (not quite off). You have 4 torsion bars on each roof and they need to be balanced. Do not crank on only one on each side, have to do both. A visual check should show that all are about the same distance in, if not try to make them so. It is not rocket science but can be physically challenging, especially if you have a bad back like me. Have someone help you do the lifting, a balance may take 6 or more raisings and lowerings.

I can't get to my TM now but it is big, near an inch but I am guessing so do not go with it. One thing you could do is get an adjustable open end that opens at least 1 1/4 inch. That way you will have it covered/
One thing I forgot to mention-- you must be level, especially side to side to do the adjustment.

It was 1 1/8. Turns out the small end of my Trailer Ball Wrench works perfect on it. Thanks!

do you know if all TMs are the same way to adjust? Does the 2002 adjust the same way as a 2003+
my memo from the service dept the other day indicated that the torsion bar tune up special that was advertised only applied to 2003 and newer?

I believe the memo said the units before 2003 would be at a higher cost but the factory still can do the adjustment if you need it.
