Default 2001 3023

Hi all. First off I want to thank everyone here for the collective knowledge I have been using for many months now. I have my heart set on a 3023 and had decided on a 2003 or newer due to the change from wood framing to aluminum. I also liked the more centralized location for the AC. I went to an RV show this weekend and was talking to the Trailmanor dealer who just happened to take in a 2001 on Friday. He will be getting the used 3023 around the second week in April and thinks that it will be in very good shape. My question is, do any of you have any thoughts about pros or cons related to this specific model year? I know it's a pretty broad question but any help would be appreciated. If the original owners are members here, could you please send me a PM? Thanks all

I don't have any specific info on that year's model, but if you can scrape together a few more pennies especially if you plan to keep it for a number of years, I'd go for as recent a model year as you can afford. It is not just an issue of the framing, but over the years a number of improvements have been incorporated into the design, materials, and overall quality of a TM. Having said that, you'll enjoy whatever good TM you end up with.
Good hunting.

I've got an 02 model year. Bought it from the original owner. This is my second TM since 2000. My first TM was a 1997 model 3326 with tandem axles. Aside from any improvements that may have been made on newer model years, the TM is built well enough to hold up for many years of use. As with any vehicle, it's all up to how it was maintained and cared for. I'd go with what you can afford with a proper and full inspection.

Thanks guys. I figured I could spend 8-10 K so was looking at maybe a 2005 at the newest. As you all know though, they are hard to come by and I have Trailmanor fever. I guess I'll just have to wait till I can take a look at it and hope my impulse buying habit doesn't cloud my judgement. By the way, I am a site sponsor but it doesn't appear beneath my name. Is there something else I have to do?

I actually have (2) 3023s - my first one is a 1999 and the newer one is a 2010 - lots of improvements, but we like them both. Of course the 99 isn't as tight, and AC is over the bed. The 10 has LED lights, AC in the middle, smaller cover over the front window. I added a power hitch, also solar, and a hitch on the back for a genertor carrier. Really works out nice. We love the 3023 - a shame that they don't make them any more - we feel its just the right size.

I agree about it being just the right size. Because it's sized differently than the other models, with a swing hitch, it will still fit in my 21' garage. I also like that it has a much higher load capacity than the other models (not sure how or why). I like that there are three different beds and you don't have to crawl over one to get to the other.

Shadowcats,

After the brief closing/sale/reorganization flap I called TrailManor once. I talked to someone, (don't remember who), who told me that they would build a 3023 for anyone who ordered a new one. So they are, or were, still available last year.

Tom
