Default AC Thermostat bad?

2008 2720SL. Adjusting the thermostat control on my AC has no effect. It runs until the system ices/freezes. Can someone suggest a troubleshooting reference and/or resource to purchase replacement parts for the AC? Thanks, KeithB.

I put a new thermostat in a couple of years ago. If you don't get a reply before then, I will be in the trailer in a couple of days and will look for the paperwork.

I have a similar question. First outing in our 2007 2619 this past weekend. A/C is GREAT but it runs FOREVER. As in, all night. And even on low it is like a tornado. Tried rotating thermostat knob to more of a cool/warm mix, I guess the air temp changed but it still ran all night.

The a/c thermostat is the knob on the rooftop a/c unit, and NOT the thermostat under the sink (which is for the furnace), correct ?

So what am I missing to get the a/c set just right ? Practice ?

Thank you for any clues.

There are two control knobs for the air conditioner. The fan control knob will set the fan on in a continuous operation, either in a low or high setting. The second knob is the thermostatic control. It will cause the compressor to cycle on and off to maintain a set temperature/humidity level (of your choice).

Bottom line - once the fan control is turned on it will continue to operate until you turn it off.

The fan portion of the AC does not cycle on/off as a household central AC. The compressor kicks in and out depending on the cold, colder setting dial but the fan continues to blow until you turn it to off position.

Thank you. I remember reaching that conclusion. (What a crazy weekend, our first in the TM, figuring everything out).

So followup question - has anybody done any mods (is it even possible) to make the unit blow a little LESS ?

There have been several mods to reduce noise. If you change the fan speed significantly lower, you might get icing.

I remember someone on this forum saying that the fan control knob has three settings. Loud, louder and super loud!

But I'll take it. If the heat and humidity are really high, I am grumpy and can't enjoy myself. In my old tent camper, when it was really humid, I just could not escape it. I was grumpy. So at least on those type of days now, I can cool down and put up with the noise of the AC unit.

Plus, my dogs like it too.

Default AC Thermostat bad

Thanks MisterP. I think it must be something with the thermostat as it continuously blows cold air until it freezes regardless of the fan setting. Look forward to your reference or suggestions.

Our 2007 TM3326 has a RV Products Polar Mach model 9203 a/c unit. I believe the company is now part of Coleman. I can't find my receipt for the thermostat, but I went to my local RV parts desk and I remember they looked up the thermostat part no and ordered it for me. If I recall it was $40 or so, don't hold me to that number.

I did a quick online look but did not see the thermostat as a part item. On my iPhone can't see much detail anyway on parts diagrams. The RV store is your best bet.

I seem to recall there is a label on the bottom of the unit that shows the model no. But it's 3:30am here and I don't plan to go looking for it.
