I'm not saying that this is safe, and I wouldn't do it with any kind of a flame lit in the TM, but every time I've had to remove "goo" in the TM I take some paper towels, soak them with Coleman lantern fuel, and then tape them to the spot and leave it there for about half an hour. I guess that it depends on what kind of "goo" it's from. Ours was from the old Velcro strips that keep the flaps down next to the dinette. We have to re-do them every few years. We open the windows and don't stay outside.
Not saying that it's safe, but it works for us.
