Default Sink Faucet Repair

A leak appeared at the base of our sink faucet. After removing the faucet, I find that around the nipple coming from the base of the faucet are two "O" rings, a black one of rubber and a white one of some type of hard plastic. The hard white one is broken preventing a complete seal. Am I likely to be able to replace just this hard "O" ring or am I going to have to replace the entire faucet assembly? If I have to replace the whole thing, do I have to remove the water heater to do it?

I sure do value and appreciate all the TM expertise out there.

Default Sink Faucet Repair

I felt rejected because no one responded to my plea for help with the kitchen faucet. Then it came top me that maybe this question had been asked before and everyone was tired of answering it. Sure enough, a search on "Sink Faucet" turned up a plethora of great information about fixing the sink faucet. The input i liked best was from the member who found an exact replacement "tap", "faucet" "spout" at a hardware store. I doubt that I'll be so lucky, but I feel much more confidant about tackling the job now.

Thanks:

WWG

Bill - I think the sink faucet is a standard RV faucet - you should be able to find an exact replacement at Camping World or any of the online stores. It might be easiest to replace the whole thing!

Bill,

I own a Hardware Store and have worked on hundreds of faucets, but I couldn't visualize where the white one was or what it's purpose was by your original post.

I assume you are talking about the Kitchen Sink, and not the Bathrooom?

When you say

are you talking about the spout?

Can you show us a picture?

I'm sure with some more information we can help you stop the leak.
