Those nut connectors drive me crazy. Each time that I have to mess with one that has 3-wire in it, I solder the wires, put the nut back on and wrap it with electrical tape. If possible, I just nip the wire ends and install a heat-shrink butt connector that has low temp solder it them. I love those things
