I want to see how NT responds because if it is an issue I want them to stop offering the combo since most people would not notice. I would also like to know if the eTrailer tire/wheel is the same since both may be being supplied from the same place.
Once I return the tires, I lose that leverage.
This is more than just me. Note that the assembly (tire/wheel) is being advertised as capable of 2150 lbs.
ps I just confirmed with Dextar Wheel that that tire should not have been put on that wheel and they said it could crack. I am trying to get proper documentation for this.
pps BTW Dexstar also said that the 15x5 JJ is rated at 1820 lbs and the 15x6 at 2050. Just checked and my wheels appear to be the 6" rim width but is still 100 lbs less than the advertised capacity. this should be plenty for a static load but I always derate a street tire by 20% to account for side loads when cornering.
Back when I was autocrossing my 78 Sunbird seriously (twice state champion) I used to check the right front wheel every run for cracks and usually had to junk at least one after every event. Once I ripped the entire center hub out. Fortunately Vega GT wheels were cheap.
