Default Front door won't lock

I have a 1996 2518. The front door has a key lock outside and a smooth knob with no ability to lock inside. No dead bolt. I found out this weekend, on our maiden voyage, that although there are 4 keys to the front door, none of them will lock the door. They turn it freely but no turning results in a locked door. TM wants to sell me a new door knob unit one for $80. I do not want to pay $80. Here's my question. Is this a standard RV door knob that I can get at an RV parts place or do I have to shell out the $$ for the TM version

I replaced the lockset on my '97 2720 with one that I purchased at the local Wally World. The only difference is that it can not be opened with the TrailManor master key that the dealers have.

I believe that TM uses a regular house door knob. We replaced ours with lever type knobs (due to arthritis). We had keys made that matched the deadbolt (on later models) and the lever knob.

When we bought our TM (it was kind of a prearranged thing, 850 miles away) the dealer somehow had lost the keys before we got there. Luckily they hadn't put the pins into the front bed, so I sent my son in via that route and he opened it up for us (it was locked!). We had to replace the door lock/handle that day, bought one at Fred Meyers (I think) in Salem, OR and installed it before we took off with the TM. We just wanted to buy it and get home (will be two years this Labor Day, our second anniversary with our TM ). It's important to have the right thickness of door measurement for the lock and handle assembly, but it seems to be pretty standard - I think it's 1", but measure it first before you buy.
