Default Outside vent cover replacement

I need to replace the louvered plastic vent cover located on the outside of the trailer over the water heater panel on my recently purchased 3023. The plastic vent slats were so brittle that they basically disintegrated, leaving an opening to the vent hole. Does anyone know what appliance this vent is for and has someone found a vent cover at Lowes, etc to replace this item without having to go thru TM? The cover is about 4" x 4" square (exhaust hole is slightly smaller).

I think your talking about the Gray tank vent.

Going by memory as my TM is currently covered up -- I think it might be the same cover that is used for the battery vent on the Trailmanors with a battery box in the rear.

Does it look like this?

I believe that vents the sink traps. I've had soap bubbles come out of there before when we had some excess Dawn in the kitchen sink.

It looks like Tim pointed you to the correct replacement.

You can also check a local Marine supply store as the same vents are used in boats. Be sure to calk the new one so moisture does not get into the wall.

Yes, that's the one! Thanks for the info guys and the link Tim. I'll check my West Marine store in town and see if I can avoid ordering one through the mail. I put some duct tape over it for now to keep the critters out (with a small opening to allow venting).

You could also check with an RV repair facility. RV's use a lot of standard parts. Years ago I had a louvered door give up the ghost on a truck camper. I drove over to a local RV supplies/repair place near my home. They had the replacement door in stock!

Great, I'll check the local RV dealership as well. Can verify if the deadbolt is supposed to operate on the same key as the door handle lock? Our doesn't and we don't have a key for it so guess we'll just be using the deadbolt from the inside unless we install a new lock.

Our keys are the same for both locks.
