Toyota Tundra good tow vehicle?

Intend to pick up a new 2720SL with my '06 Tundra. Am interested in any pros or cons on the 4wd Tundra and any suggestions to help a newby.

I borrowed my niece's 2000 Tundra to pull our used 2003 2720 SL from Wilmington, NC to Western MA. I have to agree with Leon . . . it is one of the better TV's out there.

Take a look at my profile picture. Thats a 4WD with everything in the truck bed, bicycles, Kayaks, EF3000 generator, lots of firewood, water tanks, etc etc. absolutely great TV, rides like a Lexus.

If I were to change to a different TV, Toyota, Tundra would be high on my list. A Toyota Sequoia would be a close second.

I'm Towing my 6000 lb (MVWR) Jayco with my '00 Tundra. Great TV. The 10-11 mpg I could do w/out. If it were towing a TM (any TM) I'd have to reminded that it was behind us. This eight y/o Tundra drives like a new vehicle. You have a winner, fer sher.

BTW, since the Tundra hitch receiver is around 20-21 inches above the ground, you may need a dropped hitch-ball in order to keep the TM level when you tow.

thanx for the hitch level info. I now have 7500 miles on my '06 Tundra and have averaged 17.4mpg so far. Hope I can get 15-16 when I start towing.

I don't have a four wheel drive, but my 2005 Tundra 4.7 V8 with factory towing package) does a great job towing our 2720SL. I don't have a WDH (trailer and Tundra set level when towing) nor have I had a problem with a few panic stops, even in the mountains on steep downgrades.
I average 15-16 miles per gallon on the highway at 60 mph w/overdrive on. Love the Tundra!
