I have not found a way to close the gap under the door, especially at the ends, so I made a light canvas tube and filled it with clean fine gravel / coarse sand. I lay it on the floor in front of the door, where it blocks the gap.
You may be able to close up the side gap by removing the square aluminum flip-up bar, turning it over, and drilling a new hole for the pin. Drill it at a location that will push the gap closed. I say "may" because this gap is really sensitive to how well the trailer is leveled. The shells tends to float just a bit toward the downhill side, which opens the gap on the uphill side. If the gap bothers you - and it would on a cold night - you could carry a strip of thick, fluffy cotton cloth and a 4" plastic putty knife to stuff the cloth into the gap.
Let us know if you invent a better method.
