Tv mileage with a trailmanor

Hello all.

I'm looking at a new to me tt. I'm leaning toward a trailmanor for a host of reasons including tv mileage, living space verse folded size and weight. The likely candidate is the 2720 or if I'm lucky the 3124 depending or timing, location and price.

So the heart of my question is what have you all experienced as far as tv mileage towing and not towing a trailmanor. I know the answers are going to be all over the place but more looking to get how much worse it gets with the trailer.

As an example my current tv is a 2004 jeep grand Cherokee with ho 4.7l v8. Best case I get 20 mpg on the highway with nothing in the vehicle, towing nothing and cruise set about 70 on flat interstate. Around town I get about 16-17 and with kayaks and bike and camping stuff I get a little less on the interstate. When I towed my current tt back from Florida with tv and tt empty I got about 10-11 mpg at 55 mph on flat interstates. IMO that's pretty bad.

According to trailmanor you use about one additional gallon per 100 miles. Using that math, I would go from around 16 mpg when loaded without the trailmanor to a little below 14 with the in tow.

Can anyone give some examples of mileage with and without the trailmanor to support or disprove this? Also what tv are you using.

As a side thought the other tt I'm looking at is the vcross vibe. It's a little lighter but has far less inside room. It does have a really nice large bathroom up front and 60gal grey holding tank. In addition I like the thought of just opening the door and getting stuff in and out while stopped along the way. The manufacture says the v front helps with gas mileage and stability. Ive got a thread on their owners forum to see if anyone can quantify the mileage difference with that tt.

First of all, speed is a major factor in fuel economy (not to mention safety), especially when towing. I never tow faster than 60 MPH -- after that, fuel economy takes a big dump.

When I tow our fully loaded 2720SL, ready for camping, with our Toyota Sequoia, I get 12-13 MPG on the highway. Without the trailer, I get about 20 MPG on the highway.

YMMV--but I get 16 towing and 18 not towing on the highway with Ford 150 ecoboost. Interestingly enough, when I towed my old Coleman Bayside to trade for my Trailmanor- I got 1mpg better with the TM even thought it was about 1000 lbs heavier--but that was only 100 miles each way.

My mileage drops 2.5 mpg when towing and I do slow down a bit.

Just this thought, we all know tha mpg is allways a concern, for lack of better wording. But i would also like to mention the stability while towing a tm,i must say it is the tops with what is out there.
Yes there is a trade off when you just can't reach in and grab something every stop. BUt when the trucks go strolling by you and you don't even feel the trailer move, there is some worth in that also.. just my op.

At 11200# combined and a speed of 62 mph we get 13 mpg with the dodge 4.8l
Never towed the TM with the Cherokee but towing a Coleman Mesa with it got about 15 mpg between Fl and NC. Again speed was 62 mph as that seems to be the sweet spot on the 4.8L with our driving habits.

As a little more comparison using the Dodge to tow a 28 ft Outback from MD to FL; I burned about 15 gals every 125 mile at 60 mph and O/D off. fwiw the 2008 Dodge has a tow/haul position which leaves some O/D. This is the way we tow the TM. There is about 600 rpm difference between tow/haul and O/D off when towing the TM. Fuel use is much higher in O/D off.
