Default 2417 Sport vs Std

Hey Bob and Cleo,
according to your website, the 2417 Sport is 24' open and 17' closed. The 2417 Standard is 24' open and 18' closed. Sounds like a 2418 to me. Just sayin'....

And, if you look at the floorplans on the TM site, while the Std is 78" wide, the dinette in both models is 72" wide, but longer in the Std. Seems like it would be wider in the Std, not longer. I sent them emails about it, but nothing has changed.

lol! Yeah, they seem stuck in their ways....

Edit: Although I gotta give them credit for answering the owner's call for a lighter weight RV that has a king bed. Just seems that there's enough differences between the 2417s (vs say the three 2720 versions) that they should be separated. Not a big deal. They'll both sell well because the floor plans are perfect for folks in that niche.

Well, with the announcement in the newsletter of a 2417 Classic with the slide available in 2014 models, I may have to change trailers sooner than I expected. Was going to wait until retired to get a 2922, but may have to go with the 2417SL. Still should get most places I currently go on Jeep roads, just a bit wider than my Sport.

Can't wait to see it! But, I want the stove to be removable, so I can take a 3-burner stove outside, and not be stuck with a 2-burner built-in. Not enough room to store a second stove.

Yeah, looks like a winner: Minimal exterior with maximum interior. Camper Outlet is already listing a 2014 2417SL, although they are showing a built-in range.

Edit: Will be very interested to see the tongue weight on the 2417SL. Current 2417 Std is listed 320# naked, only 26# less than a "Std" 2720. Looks like judicious axle placement is called for to keep the target audience (Class II towing folks) from going over their 350# max tongue weight (sans any WDH options). Even then, looks like they may need their battery in the rear and LP tank in the TV. ...and then there's always the potential sway concerns with pushing the low-tongue-weight envelope... Time will tell. Definitely nice to see corporate introducing more new ideas in the "Give-Me-A-King-Bed-In-A-Smaller-RV" realm...

Default Ordered a replacement

Well, I did it: sold my 2417 Sport, and ordered a 2417KD. Thought the wife would like the sofa in the slide, but she preferred the dinette.

More room inside than the Sport. Plus, the dinette/bed is wide enough for a short adult to sleep in comfortably, instead of 6" narrower in the Sport model.

Lots of improvements over the earlier models. Bigger 'fridge, self-igniting water heater, 30-gal grey tank, bigger toilet cassette, to name a few. Can't wait to get it, maybe 4-6 weeks.

As for the tongue wt; 40-gal fresh water tank is in the rear storage area, and the battery is under the bench in the slide. Water in back will lighten the tongue wt considerably, as opposed to the KB model, where the water is up-front.
